Donate Herbs for Haiti - Monetary donations vitally needed......
I am a board member of Herbs for Orphans, a program devoted to bringing herbal and nutritional care to the orphanages in Haiti including an AIDS-dedicated orphanage. We have been an established presence in Haiti for the last 1 1/2 years. A group of my herb...al students along with community health workers from the Common Ground Health Clinic in New Orleans will be leaving via chartered plane at 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday (Jan. 19) to set up an herbal street clinic outside the capital. They will be working with the Dominican Republic Red Cross, who have also asked our group to do a street medic class for some of their workers. Included in the group are herbalists, EMTs, nurse/herbalists and street medics. Thomas Easley and Anna Grace Keller will be coordinating the ground work in Haiti and I will be coordinating donations from Stateside. After the initial assessment of the situation by the group, herbal and medical supplies will follow in the second wave.
Monetary donations are vitally needed to pay for the chartered plane which costs around $15,000. If you so find it in your heart, please consider donating to this worthy cause.
Donations can be sent via website http://www.herbs4orphans.org/pages/donat
e.html. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the donate button. This will take you to Artistic Evolution, Inc. a 501c umbrella corporation which we have been using for the last year as we apply for 501c status. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Donations of herbs may be sent to Herbs for Orphans, 1887 Easley Dr., Andalusia, AL 36420. They are tax-deductible. Please pass this on.

Since many of you have asked I want to announce that I am currently working on the 2010 lunar planting calendar, and hope to have it up on the site before the end of January. Thanks for your patience :)
We've also recently been snowed in, which is basically unheard of where I live, and after several days I have concluded that I do not, in fact, want to move northward. I do love white, but find myself once again longing for the green.
I'm also hoping to make the time to work on the recipe section as soon as the calendar is finished. I have big plans, and hope you'll stick around to see them come to life. My preschooler and I will begin homeschooling this fall. It will be a first for me and I plan to share our journey together with you. |
I'm considering integrating my blog with this site. I'd love to hear if you have any comments or suggestions on the subject. It would be quite an undertaking, but I love the idea of having them on one site!
Please be patient, the website is still under construction, and probably always will be. If there is something missing or anything new you'd like to see here, just let me know.
